Welcome to ocPortal, AllstarDC.

Some new folks are getting overwhelmed with ocPortal. Looks like you're jumping right in… which is   !

Don't hesitate to ask questions if you can't figure something out.

Can't wait to see your new transitioned site when you get it finished!

Thank you both for the warm welcome ;)

As far as i can see ocportal is an excellent choise

but i noticed its not very popular (yet) compared to

joomla, drupal etc. Why is that? because of the non gpl license?

Well-settled

No I think at least for me , its for too
technological and the documentation reads like a scientist wrote it. Lack of real step by step samples (that does not sound like a rocket scientist wrote it)
some minor issues and lack of addons. Where link and info are shown make no sense to me, I guess I am too used to other CMS where everything is more (at least to me logical) location.

But that's just me. either I need to smarten up or OCP needs dumb -ing down I still love OCP. Welcome to your new CMS home.

Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.
