Section Blocks No: 118

"Whether to merge in the current page's parameters to what the block is taken (ones the block has take priority). Default: '0'."

Sorry can't make any sense of the above. Can you clarify?

Ah, that's a typo. It should say:

"Whether to merge in the current page's parameters to what the block is taking (ones the block has take priority). Default: '0'."

The block is provided a set of parameters. The block is shown on a page. The page is accessed via a URL, which itself contains parameters. If this option is enabled then the parameters provided to the block are merged with the parameters given via the URL.

It's a very advanced block, almost programmer-level, so it may be a little hard to understand.

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

I want to thank you for taking the time to ask these questions. Most other people would gloss over any confusion and either put in something arbitrary, or give up. So, thanks :).
