Hello!

I would like to find out, if there is any chance for me to create official polish support of cPortal. I would like to find some people to translate this great CMS. I would like to add, that previously I was a member of PHP-Fusion's staff, so I translated lots of addons.

Great job, founders!

Hi Drecha,

The founders generally take a very hands-off approach to this kind of thing – anything you can do to help get things translated and help support Polish users will I'm sure be respected and much appreciated by these users :).

Let us know if there's anything you need.

  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Thanks for your response, Chris. By keeping your hands-off you mean, that I will get no support from you?

If there's something you need from the core development team, just ask. E.g. if you find something in the software's internationalisation that doesn't work well with the Polish language.

But I mean I won't be coordinating people or setting up official sites etc. Everything like that is decentralised here - you can post instructions in the community documentation, discuss things in this forum, etc.
