Hi all,

I'm alko.

I need to translate oc portal for my site.

but no translation …too bad…:ninja:

I see many tried but on launchpad there is still too much strings missing.

I' ll translate ocportal in the whole.

I 've already made translation such the one for kmleague and other for me only that were no published.

I never worked in a collaborative way,since I prefer work alone.

but for this project i proceed as suggested.

Great, welcome :).

Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Really hard work. :'(
but launchpad is a good tool.

I've notice that many strings refer to help topics.

I don't know if this is to help noob or to integrate help into site directly…

but it's a hell to translate!!! :P

I hope for the end of the week to have a first rough 100% translation.

then few days to polish and try to have a whole vision of common voices to avoid different translations for the same thing…

Thanks for your hard work translating ocPortal. Additional translations will only help ocPortal gain traction with additional users.

Yes thanks Alko. The inline help is shown when navigating the admin/cms zones, on the right.

here we go.

last 1000 strings to translate then it will be ready.

now i'm struggling with my site(i'l show you once finished) i really had to change my mind setting to understand oc portal system.

but after a week i started to find it confortable.

I find difficult to understand templating, really different from other cms I used.

i don't want to go off topic but i found really interesting the wizard, i wonder if in the future it would be possible to have more profiles for the wizard
example:
profile for a gaming site automatically set a zone for the reviews with a pre formatted page and catalogues for a database of games with classic entries (publisher, genre, num of gamer ect)
(what my site is gonna be :D)

I think this could be a good point to make oc portal popular.
let also the newbie create a full working site from a profile without making much changes.

profiles for blogging, gaming sites,movie/comic sites, clan sites, recipes sites, music sites could attract more people to oc portal.

think about this.

ciao!!
