i downloaded the version 2.5 rc1 yesterday and tested it a little bit. fine work i want say  but, i need to have german language and i could give you a helping hand if interested. i see there was the last activity months ago. are there any new? when you need help send me a pm or mail. |

I found also the psd-files with the buttons, icons etc. A smaller problem i have to do translations is the font.  I don't have this one. When you can tell me where i can get it i take it.

U're damn right! When I had asked the PSDs I didn't go through because first of all I didn't have photoshop  I've found it on fonts.com but it's not free!! |

I begann to translate ocportal in Germanfirst of all, thank you for devoloping ocPortal. I installed it just some days ago on my webserver and i so impressed… I never saw such a good CMS like this! THANK YOU! Now I want to help you an I begann to translate ocPortal in german informal, but I need help from some other germans because it's so much to translate. Maybe we could open a projekt for translation on Launchpad? What do you all mean about this? In attachment my first translation Progress…. Here we go! Sunlightshadow Edit: I just saw that I have many writing errors in my translations!!!!! Sorry, i will correct them later… See this just as a pre Alpha version or something like that ^^

I'm very fond of ocp and I think that proper translations are essential for spreading the word of ocp, so I started a German translation of my own a few days ago. Yes, I know about the launchpad project, but I found that the current German translation is a somewhat inconsistent mix of automatically translated phrases, formal German and informal German. Some entries are plainly wrong, e.g. the phrases at the beginning of global.ini that must not be translated at all according to their description. I think that everybody contributing to a translation does so more or less minding his own installation, e.g. by keeping the language formal or informal. But that's not a good thing if we all want to introduce the software to foreign markets. Is there some kind of policy that ocProducts wants the translators to follow? Have a nice one, Lowlander |

A few people have brought up the same point. We're pretty hands-off because: a) We're by no means experts on languages other than English. b) We can't really tell people what to do, as different people want different things, and everyone is a volunteer. What I would suggest is trying to encourage the Launchpad people to introduce a language variants feature.
