Looking to find the current state of French language packs

Hi all

I'm webmaster of a french canine breed club in France and looking to replace our old static site by a dynamic CMS system.

Before I start evaluating the product I need to install it in French....I may envisage a multilingual (FR & EN) site later on.

I fully understand why the translation work is farmed out to the community but I haven'y yet managed to ascertain the state of the French UI for the ocportal v9.0 19.

I gather Ocproducts has changed translation platforms but the tutorials all point to the "Launchpad" platform whereas we should now be using Transfix?

Any suggestions

The current latest version of ocPortal is v9, and is using Launchpad.

ocPortal is being relaunched with v10 as Composr CMS, which is using Transifex. However we have given no release date for v10 yet and are advising people continue with v9 until we do.

As for the state of French translation on Launchpad or Transifex, I don't know – someone else would need to comment on that. I know one of our users has recently started doing v10 Transifex French translation, and he did a great job in the past, but I haven't honestly been monitoring it, or know the state of the v9 translation.

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying Composr on fun personal projects.
