Hello,

First, I 'd like to thank you for such a great system. I have been using joomla for some time and I couldn't get things the way I want especially for a multilingual social community website. Now, I'm amazed at the features Ocportal offers for such type of websites including multilingual and RTL support, and I want to help translate the system  into Arabic.

After reading some tutorials and posts here, I joined Launchpad to begin translating. I came across some words surrounded with tags

Code

[concept]...[/concept]
like in this example:

Code

The '[concept]points[/concept]' system introduces a community dynamic that encourages member participation.
Since Arabic is written from right to left, should I include such tags, and if so, should I put the end slash in the left or the right tag?!

Hi,

If I were you I'd strip them. They are very unimportant, and only there for ocportal.com really (we embed the strings in our hosted tutorials).

Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.
