Incorrect error message

After uploading the installation files (using the automatic installer), I receive the following message when trying to run the setup:

"Connection Interrupted

The document contains no data.

The network link was interrupted while negotiating a connection. Please try again."

The data.ocp and installer.php files are both present in my public_html directory, so I can't see what's wrong.

I have a Heart Internet reseller account with around 100 domains, and I've now tried this against a couple of my domains with the same result.

Any suggestions?

Any help greatly appreciated!

Hi,

This sounds like a network or server issue, rather than anything in ocPortal. However, we can step through any problem with users under our commercial support plan, to see if workarounds can be found.

also the installer page showed an error message.O_o

What error message did you see?

yay, thank you for answering!
I don't remember what the page said exactly, when I realized it was supposed to trigger a file I just copied, I activated that file myself. It started running a very long textfile; wich never asked me for any of the things suggested, like ftp-info.
Opening the other file, it's filled with what seems repeats of the following message:
K aa9" adminzone/find_permissions.php$b)?$a:$b); } if (!file_exists($FILE_BASE.'/sources/global.php')) { $a=strrpos($FILE_BASE,'/'); if ($a===false) $a=0; $b=strrpos($FILE_BASE,'\'); if ($b===false) $b=0; $RELATIVE_PATH=substr($FILE_BASE,(($a>$b)?$a:$b)+1); $FILE_BASE=substr($FILE_BASE,0,($a>$b)?$a:$b); } else { $RELATIVE_PATH=''; } @chdir($FILE_BASE); global $NON_PAGE_SCRIPT; $NON_PAGE_SCRIPT=1; global $FORCE_INVISIBLE_GUEST; $FORCE_INVISIBLE_GUEST=0; global $MACRO_AJAX_BOOTUP; $MACRO_AJAX_BOOTUP=1; if (!file_exists($FILE_BASE.'/sources/global.php')) exit('ocPortal startup errorThe second most basic ocPortal startup file, sources/global.php, could not be located. This is almost always due to an incomplete upload of the ocPortal system, so please check all files are uploaded correctly.

Once all ocPortal files are in place, ocPortal must actually be installed by running the installer. You must be seeing this message either because your system has become corrupt since installation, or because you have uploaded some but not all files from our manual installer package: the quick installer is easier, so you might consider using that instead.

ocProducts maintains full documentation for all procedures and tools, especially those for installation. These may be found on the ocPortal website. If you are unable to easily solve this problem, we may be contacted from our website and can help resolve it for you.

Trying to copy this right now, I got several pop-up warnings saying: unable to write to disk, out of space? (or something of the kind)

The place I hired my space from claimes to be compatible with this program.

Thanks for your help!:$

It looks like the files are corrupt. I'd suggest reinstalling from scratch.

It looks like the file contents have been "mashed up" (in lieu of a better term).

The manual installer might be better, if the mashing up is somehow caused by the quick installer.

There used to be an issue in the quick installer if you pressed the procession buttons twice it would overlap files, but we fixed that.
