What do you think when you see the titel?

Hi,

While watching the movie on the frontpage of ocPortal, worth looking at   , my eye hit a square field in the upper right corner of the screen, was it …. YES! it was a searchbox (bliss  ). I couldn't help I had a strong feeling to use it so I typed point store in it, as I was wondering what I could do with my newly points allocated. The word 'shop' was all over the place but no Point Shop?
Can someone have shed light on this matter, is it named different, is it my old eyes that missed the point?

Greetings Puran.

Hi,

We don't have a point store on ocportal.com.
But if we did, what would you want to buy from it :)? (please go on and suggest)

Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Like ocPortal? Want to thank Chris and gang somehow? Then help out in the chat room! It really needs your help! Just open it in a tab everytime you open your web browser, and when you hear a "ding", check it out!

Well my first thought was maybe some banner space for some moment in future for our site.
Then maybe some service for theming or something special as addon (simple, e.g. set points over to hearts to show people how good they are in helping others. No ego stuff I'm budistlike.) as I have no possibillity to pay outside my country. (No creditcard and don't wan't one as I have very sad experience with that as they won't stop cashing in so I had to stop it by force.)
As I got points I thought one could do something with them.

Maybe a "support ticket" that consists of something more than what we could find in the forums help pages. (Like a customisation for our site that would cost a extra for ocPortal to put together?)

I guess the 'support', especially from the staff, on this site has spoiled us as far as 'paying' for anything is concerned. Points or hard cash!

When any of us shouts 'HELP' we invariably ←–(means= ALWAYS. Look it up!) get an answer from the staff. Even if it is a "… will be incorporated into the next release," message.

So let's have a standard points deduction (keep it small - I'm always asking for help!) when help and advice is forthcoming from the staff, and introduce a points reward when the 'problem' is a bug or something similar.

Help and advice from non-staff continues on an ad-hoc basis. You may wish to contribute points - or not - for any help received.

Take my advice. I'm not using it!

Think you got a point there, but I know for sure that the staff from ocPortal like to spoil us, so they know for sure that they don't get to difficult questions  ;) .
