Adding the Weather Block - killed my site?

I have spend a month developing my site - I tried to add a weather block and the whole site has crashed
I changed the default weather tag from the default 34503 to my location KZXX0002.
The number was taken from the end of the URL
(http://www.weather.com/weather/extended/l/KZXX0002)
I made a back up copy of the database after the event I can see the location code(KZXX0002) in the code.
I changed it back to 34503 and restored the new database - nothing happened - page still failed to open
Any ideas on what I can do to restore my site......Select image: ocf_emoticons/cry

Hi,

I'll take a look at this in terms of what could crash it, but in terms of fixing the site, it should be easy enough to just go to /cms/?page=cms_comcode_pages, select the page/panel you put it on, and restore the previous revision, and save.

DB restore wouldn't have worked as the Comcode pages are stored on disk.

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
