Now that OcP has been up and running for a couple weeks, I'm noticing that one usergroup consistently has a validate post icon, and another usergroup seem to have validate post icons randomly.
I am unable to find a means to change this, or I've overlooked it numerous times.
For this installation, all members should be able to post freely in the forums, with a select small group permitted to add to news and Content elsewhere.

Still not finding a means to allow members to auto-validate their posts in forums.
For some reason this is not occuring for every post or reply, or at least does not appear to.

Under the forum permissions you can set to bypassPostValidation and bypassTopicValidation options.

Somehow this keeps reverting to where a moderator or higher has to validate posts.
I may need someone to look over my shoulder on this one..

It may be that you have it overridden on a per-forum basis. Edit the forum involved and see if it is overriding that privilege.

Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

I've looked so hard that if it was a giant pink elephant, I'd probably miss it. :)

We seem to be having a post count issue that is paralleling the validation, post count shows a value greater than zero, but clicking new or unread posts yeilds nothing.
