How come I don't have those little smilies under my username? I've seen numerous people with both less points and less posts then me, yet they have the smilies under their username.

Not that it's a big concern, I was just wondering why I don't have them. :P

Gee, I sure am on a posting spree today. :D

You're in a special usergroup ;).

Become a fan of ocPortal on Facebook or add me as a friend. Add me on on Twitter.
Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

He is in privileged developers can I ask what he developed?

I run http://otakuplayground.com and am hopping to make themes and other things for ocportal even though I no longer use it for otakuplayground.com I still love it and feel it could go far with the right help. It needs themes and needs people to advertise for it.

It's an old usergroup we re-used for a specific purpose. I don't want to get into specifics as this isn't really an appropriate public discussion.

Well I will not push it but I am not going to say I am not at least wondering or wondering how to get into the group.

I am having a hard time getting into the contributer group so by the looks of it I will stay where I am at.

These groups exist for very very specific reasons. The contributor is an alternative to customer; for instances where we give away a free key to someone, and decide we also want to give them the same access rights as customers.
The privileged developer group is used for situations where we have something very specific to discuss, and membership would be allocated and deallocated depending on whether there was anything left to discuss.
The customer group is infact the one with highest prestige from our perspective.

Oh ok, well I am not going to stop helping but it will not be trying to get into that group. I was looking though your groups and it looks like contributer changed to community friends.
I see certified theme and when I saw it I was like Oh I so want to be in that group. lol
Any way thanks and I hope I did not upset any one, I am a very curios girl. I feel so ashamed for asking too.

Well, don't feel ashamed. Two sayings come to mind…

It never hurts to ask.

Curiosity killed the cat.

So in this crazy mixed up world, who knows what to say or think ;).

ya that is so true. Guess what I started taking css, and php classes and not just free ones online but ones that cost.
I want to try and get out of computer tech support and into some thing I like doing like web development.

It's nice to be in a usergroup alone. :) There are only two people in the Privileged Developers group, one in which hasn't been active on ocPortal for 15 months now. :P
