here some information...

Hello my dear friends,

During the upgrading using Mozilla Firefox Version 9.0.6 to 9.0.7 process there is a bug I want to share and need some solutions.

After completing the upgrade process from Sofaculous and visit below link to complete the upgrade process by finishing the process on the above URL and follow the 5th, 6th and 7th step.
http://pewaris.org/V1/upgrader.php (DONE)

I also an receive email like this below:

A potential hacking attempt has been detected. Please do not be alarmed: approximately half of the suspected attempts are triggered innocently (the software intentionally has a paranoid security model, to give you very high security). Real hacking attempts are almost always caused by 'bots' (computer programs) that automatically crawl the internet looking for websites which may contain vulnerabilities, and then reporting any found vulnerabilities to their 'master' for future exploitation (usually, to assist in spam relaying). If this was a real hack attempt, it has failed - you might want to try and analyse the logged details (in case it gives clues to a real and persistent offender). More information on security is given in the software documentation.

If you believe this suspected hack attempt is neither correct nor benign, but rather actually represents a substantial stability problem in the website software, read the information below. Otherwise, do not read on.

Below is a stack trace revealing the state the software was in when the error occurred. If this represents a bug in the unmodified software, you may want to check ocPortal website for a fix, and if there isn't one, report this as a bug. Please note that merely posting a stack trace is not sufficient for us to solve your problem; the stack trace is just an aid that presents us with additional information. We still need to know the error message, what you tried to do, how you tried to do it, version numbers, and any other appropriate information.
We apologise for this problem and if it's a bug we hope you will work with us so that we can fix it for you promptly.

Hi,

I can see how this would happen. If you uninstalled an addon, then refreshed to uninstall again, the addon would be missing and this activates a small bug in the code. Please ignore that.

If there are any ongoing problems on your site, please let us know. We will fix this bug in the next release.

  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. Hi,
FYI,
What should i do next now my website is closed and user still can be view the error when website is open, only me (administrator) can see this error:

Critical error – bailing out

This is an error that has been elevated to critical error status because it occurred during the primary error mechanism reporting system itself (possibly due to it occuring within the standard output framework). It may be masking a secondary error that occurred before this, but was never output - if so, it is likely strongly related to this one, thus fixing this will fix the other.

Perhaps you have an outdated override, at sources_custom/site2.php, or your sources/site2.php was not upgraded correctly? (perhaps the extraction did not complete for example)

Where to get the fix file or do I need to edit something Sir..?

Do you have a sources_custom/site2.php override file?

Does anything show as incorrect in the integrity checker in the upgrader?

Intergrity check result:

These files are actually missing and need uploading (you can find them in the manual installer ZIP for the version you're running):

    facebook_connect.php
    site/pages/html_custom/EN/download_tree_made.htm

The following alien files were found in ocPortal and possibly should be deleted. It may be that these files are remnants of the previous version or files from uninstalled addons (these ones are pre-ticked/checked), and they may cause problems if left behind. Please check each file to see what it is, and if you believe it to be an outdated file, delete it. Please take a backup first though!

There are several check/uncheck result do I need to proceed with the "automatically handle those ticket"

I dont have the a sources_custom/site2.php override file

I am getting very confused now. We have not had "facebook_connect.php" as a core ocPortal file for a very long time, and I have looked at the code several times and the errors here don't make any sense unless there are overrides or old files. I wonder if you somehow have multiple installs mixed up.

If you want to open a bug report ticket with FTP details I will see if I can locate the problem.

Right, so I actually just went to:
http://pewaris.org/V1/data/files.dat
And "facebook_connect.php" is not in there.

(files.dat is what the integrity check uses)

So I think you're definitely in an upgrader for a different site.

EDIT: Actually I may be wrong here, I think this is caused by an old v8 sources/hooks/systems/addon_registry/facebook.php still being in place.

The offer for me to look over it directly remains open. Right now I'm afraid I have no idea what might be up, but I suspect an incorrect step or assumption has happened somewhere.

I suspect uploading this sources/site2.php file would fix it:
https://raw.github.com/chrisgraham/ocPortal/v9/sources/site2.php
(this is the latest v9 version of the file)

I have fixed the site, but I am not done yet – I will provide a full explanation soon.

But basically:
I dont have the a sources_custom/site2.php override file
Actually you did, and it came from the Google Translate addon. The integrity checker did not report this, which is why I got so confused. I am working out why.

Ok, I found a few issues in the integrity checker, and also in the addon updater. I have made some amends to improve the usability of all of them, to make things easier in the future.

All issues discussed here should now be resolved :).

Ah, I had to update a lot of outdated addons, but I forgot to finish reinstalling the Facebook addon for you. That was trickier, as you still had very old v7 parts of the other Facebook addon around, and I had to purge all of that.

Yes Sir,
don't forget on to change back the webadmin (rodzansms@gmail.com - using my facebook login) so that I can adjust the addon myself later.

Gratitude for you Sir… from me
