Hi, is there a way to have two news "collumns"?
I tried to make two blocks side by side, and filtering different news, but they just go on top of each other.

It would be cool if you could have the same news block split in two collumns, but Ill be fine with two separate news blocks if thats the only way (if its possible at all)

Thank you :)

Assuming it is on your front page, try and insert this code in the appropriate place …

Code

[semihtml]
{| 45%:45% wide floats
| [block=max_entries="2" title="News and Articles" fallback_full="2" fallback_archive="0" filter="1,2,3,4,5,6,7"]main_news[/block]
| [block=max_entries="2" title="Fletch's Blog" fallback_full="2" fallback_archive="0" filter="8"]main_news[/block]
|}
[/semihtml]

Here is a graphic showing four columns on a fixed-width display …

… and here is the full template:

Ask if there is anything that escapes you …

Take my advice. I'm not using it!

Can you post EXACTLY what you are using as your code? Preferably enclosed within [code] ... [/code] parameters.

I think Titanium87 probably needs to turn the WYSIWYG editor off -- or keep it on, and use the tables feature for columnisation.

Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.
