Hi all,

Is anyone else having difficulties turning of email notifications and the Monitor function? I am starting to get complaints that, even though they have un-ticked all boxes, people are still getting unwanted tracking. I am using 8.1.1.

Any suggestions are appreciated. :)

Would need more info. I'll assume we're talking forum monitoring here.

Have they unticked all boxes on the main notifications settings screen in their account settings, or the advanced (detailed) notification screen specifically for forums?

Maybe they have simply unticked notifications on the advanced screen, but left 'Automatically monitor content you've touched' ticked on the main notifications setting screen in their account settings. Each time they'd reply they'd be put back on to monitor what they replied to.

Hi Chris,

Yes, I am referring to the forum. On the main notifications screen (the one in their profile section Profile>edit>notifications) they have unticked the all the email notification boxes and the "Automatically monitor content you've touched" box.

In the forum (monitor>Manage "Forum topic activity" notifications) they untick all the boxes and save; however, they still receive email notifications of posts. When they go back into that area (monitor>Manage "Forum topic activity" notifications), the boxes they unticked are ticked again.  O_o

I am wondering if the "Automatically monitor content you've touched" isn't ticked by default in the script?
