Chris,

I was looking through tracker entries trying to find entries that I thought I had started sponsoring. Is there a filter or a way to show those items? I would like to start cleaning up (albeit slowly) some of those outstanding items.

I know there is an item waiting for sponsorship to provide a tab for showing items being sponsored, but that falls under that chicken-egg thing.  Maybe that should be the next item on my list.

I don't think there is, I miss this too. But you can search for stuff you're monitoring.

Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

If you need my help with it, let me know. My guess is you'll be monitoring what you sponsored.

I thought that also, but looking through my monitored items I didn't see any, but I could have missed it.

I just sponsored the BobS tab feature request. I thought this was a great idea that would make it easier for anyone wanting to help sponsor.

A nice addition would be able to see on the forum somewhere the number of items being sponsored, kind of the same way you show the number of tracker items.

Since I have pretty much rewritten ocPortals Support Credits addon to be more portable I could probably add a miniblock to it that shows what's being sponsored so I'll take care of that for you sholzy. I have been out of town for the past couple weeks and should be home tomorrow where I can sync up the Support Credits addon modifications. Not sure I can make this new miniblock till later this week or early next but we will see and I'll update you when it is done.

@Duck – as Sholzy has sponsored this with ocProducts support credits, and I need to upload it, I'll handle this myself. However I'm very happy to have your involvement on this kind of thing going forward.

Thanks for the offer Duck. Maybe somewhere down the road I'll have an idea that needs coded and I could make payment by sponsoring (or helping to sponsor) something you're interested in.

When I ran across the "sponsor tab" request Bob made, I thought this would be a great feature to have on the tracker since he was always "reminding" us to help sponsor a certain feature he thought was important to ocP.

So, for me sponsoring this "tab feature" is a way for BobS to "always remind us" what features is needing help in being sponsored.

Implemented.

And yes, I've tacked it on there :). [for people not aware - it shows it on the unread-topics screen]

@Chris

Did you upload these changes anywhere that I can roll them into the addon files I have worked on?

I was going to sync up all the work I've done today if I can. I am home again for the first time in almost 2 weeks but I have to sort through my different coppies of the files I have because when I synced my laptop up before leaving town I synced with the wrong version of files and didn't take with me stuff I had already worked on so finished system is sort of split between 2 computers now and needs meshing. But I would like to roll in any changes you've contributed if you don't mind?
