Hi,

I've got the same prob, follow the link, unchecked the 'site is closed' square, save it, but even after repeated it three times, it wan't open up my site.
Any advice?

Hi,

This sounds like a problem with the 'suhosin.post.max_vars' setting on your server (assuming you have suhosin).

Our recommended.htaccess file has code to raise that setting, but if that doesn't work you may need to contact the web host.

Hi Chris,

I've got it working with the help of my host who also restored the theme to the default (sigh…finally!).

The direct reason for the disfunction was the wrong settings, done by the installation programs.
The first install was done by "Installatron Applicatie installer module v6.0.7" that used version 4.2.1 from 10 oct 2009. Then I did an upgrade at the admin console to version 4.2.2. I did not made any changes by ch-mod so my careful conclusion is that the ch-modding by program did go wrong somewhere.

Overall the installation with Installatron (from my host) was very easy but the upgrade to 4.2.2 (with the use of FTP) was a very intensive so maybe there's a way to ease that up with an example advise what to put where in the process from within the admin zone.

Now I start the 'fight' to make it to a dutch site to test the translations I did.
