Moving forward with Composr

ocPortal has been relaunched as Composr CMS, which is now in beta. ocPortal 9 will be superseded by Composr 10.

I've been waiting for this announcement ever since I found about ocPortal v9 and how it would eventually blossom into Ocportal v10. After reading the news article about Composr CMS, I am excited for the release of it. I am eagerly waiting for it to release before I retry making another website. I just hope that everything has been made easier for the aspiring website creators who do not have as much experience in theming or managing a website. Finally the day of paradise is arriving.

Hi Guest,

There'll be lots of UX improvements for webmasters, but if you can list any specific difficulties, it will help the project. UX is an ongoing process, detailed feedback is always very welcome :).

  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Will there be an alpha release, as with v9? It would be nice to get accustomed to the changes applied so far.

There'll definitely be some pre-release, we won't go straight to final. Probably it'll start with beta.
