Chris, I'm having a bad day and I'm going to take it out on you, I hope you don't mind. :)

I'm really trying to use the search function to find what I'm looking for.  My latest search for newsletter returned 9 pages.  Not the least I've received but still too many.  The problems seems to be that if one topic contains 7 references to the item for which I searched, I see 8 returns.  One where all of the search items are highlight and then another return for each occurrence.

Since I'm on the topic of search, I was looking for information for "quote of the day", is there a way to pass a phrase to search such that search returns only hits that contain the phrase, rather than any word in the phrase?

Loosely related to the general "Argh, I'm having a bad day!" notes.

In documentation it would be helpful to me if the source of items were listed.  For example, we can obviously find members and member information in the database;  we can find the contact us message in admin->audit->contact us; but where do I find the list of emails related to the newsletter (the reason for my first search, btw).  The reason I'm asking is that I've now entered a couple and when I go to edit newsletter, I'm seeing no one.  And I'm confused (again).

Beginning that message the way I did, I guess it doesn't surprise me that no one responded - I was really having a bad day and should have just kept my mouth shut.  (Did I mention that the web site I'm doing is for a Non-Violent Communication group?)

My real quandary is what happens to the people that enter / I have entered asking to be added to the newsletter list since I can't find them when I "try to send" a newsletter.

  • Admin Zone → Tools → Manage newsletter

AND

  • Admin Zone → Tools → Newsletter → View newsletter subscribers (select category from the drop-down menu)

Take my advice. I'm not using it!

Fletch, I've been there, but what I'm looking to see is that everyone that I've manually added is there and all I'm seeing is a couple of domains.

I'm also more than a bit confused since I see dign up for a newsletter as a "you'll get the next one" I'm not sure I follow the several different classes <??> of newsletters.

I haven't gotten the gin out yet, but I'm getting close!!
