Is this something wrong with my computers settings?

Having a problem, probably browser related, when trying to reply on the ocPortal forum. Using Internet Explorer I have a full functioning experienced but if I use my preferred browser, Firefox 3.6.6 I can access all the Forum but cannot participate and reply. In addition when trying to download the bug fix for side menu catches I get a page that opens with garbage like below.

Is there a setting on my computer that I should look at?

I can confirm that, too! Also Using FF.

No zipped file at the end of the link ….. or any of the 'zip' extensions for that matter!

Take my advice. I'm not using it!

Perhaps something to do with the recent server move?

Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Thanks. The download problem is now fixed. I didn't see a problem posting though.

Chris,

When replying, all you get is the white text box. Can't even put any text in. At least that is the problem I have with FireFox. I end up using the Quick reply instead.

Hi,

Does it work now? When I tried I got an error from the WYSIWYG editor, which I've now fixed. I'm guessing Firefox changed something in a recent update.

I just had similar problems replying to a post receiving a "beyond 60 seconds timeout" error. Removing the "code" comcode statement that was part of the message was the only way to post it.

Thanks.
I think I've just optimised around that issue.
