info to setup

I see strange thing .... I install portal on a local machine on windows system with wamp server now at end of install and setup all work fine on local machine. If I try to connect to the site from other pc to the same network dont work. I change on the info.php the value localhost with the ip of machine and all work on the internal net but when I try to go in admin zone and make same mod at the portal when push process or save botton nothing happen. I see that on the admin zone when move up of the menu no drop-down menu appare if I set back in info.php localhost all back ok any idea of problem?
I try to install the portal with ip address insted of localhost and no drop-down menu seems to work only with localhost.
tks alot all

I used to use WAMP Server, it's good but hasn't been updated in a while now and doesn't really support some options of ocPortal by default. You need to enable rewrite (for fancy url's etc), and perhaps enable some other Apache options which are not on by default. I doubt this has anything to do with your current problems though, which sounds like it might partly be your network configuration at fault (uneducated guess).

I have no real idea what is causing your issues, but maybe try Bitnami WAMP Stack which has everything setup perfectly and there is even an ocPortal module of 9.0.19. If you have the same issues using Bitnami I would be surprised.

If you are just using your localhost server for ocPortal testing, then there is an ocPortal installer which includes the WAMP stack here. I have had no issues, or things to alter, at all with the Bitnami stack which is why I am suggesting it.

Sorry if I confused you, the rewrite thing was nothing to do with what you are experiencing. I was just saying WAMP Server isn't really ocPortal ready and is a little bit out of date now.

Nothing I said really answered your questions, I was just suggesting that using Bitnami WAMP Stack might be better for you.

If you aren't committed to using your current WAMP setup and aren't too familiar with Apache and PHP configuration, you may want to do as KingBast suggested and use the Bitnami WAMP Stack which has already been configured to work with many common apps (via downloadable modules), including ocPortal. I'm not sure what the default Apache config is for the Bitnami WAMP Stack, so it may not be the final solution to your problem.

If you are committed to using your current WAMP setup (or if switching to Bitnami gives the same access problem), double check the Apache httpd.conf file to be sure the Listen config line(s) are set correctly. For localhost-only access on port 80, there is probably only one Listen line in httpd.conf that probably looks something like this:

Listen 127.0.0.1:80

If you want to access the Apache web server from other machines on your network, you would need to add another Listen line with the IP address of your network adapter. Normally this is a private DHCP assigned address that might look something like 192.168.1.100. In this case, you would add:

Listen 192.168.1.100:80

to your Apache httpd.conf file. Just replace 192.168.1.100 with the IP address of your network adapter. If you aren't using the standard port 80 for your WAMP server, replace 80 with the port number you are using.

The defaults on the WAMP Stack seem perfect for me, though if they are not there is the ocPortal installer which includes the WAMP stack which surely will be perfectly configured. Whichever implementation you go for, it will be up to date and a lot better suited than WAMP Server.

Or you could try what Jason suggested first, to see if that fixes the problems.
