Points

Okay I have added a download and made it so they need 50 points to download, yet coming in as a user I can still download this file..What am I doing wrong?

Are you providing any points for joining or some other activity? Did you check the user's profile to confirm that they had fewer than fifty points?

Those are what i would check first.

Yes I have 35 points in this account, but download is 50 points and still allows me to download.

Did you check the advanced tag in Content Management » Downloads » Edit download to be sure you have the point cost set correctly? If that is correct, check in your Admin Zone » Security » Permissions Tree Editor to see if you allow users to "bypass download validation" set that to a "-".

If they've downloaded it once already, there is no charge for them to download it again.

This is necessary if downloads fail, or because many download clients use multiple download streams to download different parts simultaneously.

Create a new user and give it another test. You can always delete that user when you're done with it.  

Chris was right..I created a new user and didn't have enough points to download test zip. That's a GREAT way to work this part of the CMS. I am impressed..Yeah I know what you thinking, "that's all it takes to impress you?"..lol Well I feel it will be just a start of things that will impress me with this software. I like the fact that it is not heavy and is easy to create with. So thanks all for the help.

LightWolf, I think you are right. As I have mentioned, I have been using OCP since 2005, and Chris and everyone else continue to impress me.
