Please participate in these polls

I added a topic poll to an old discussion thread and want to make sure it doesn't get lost in the shuffle. Please vote in the multi-categorization thread (View topic: Sponsorship for Feature Tracker item #63: Multi-categorization - ocPortal) if you have not already done so. These results do not bind you in any way, and voting alone without making a post is completely anonymous to me. However, your votes will help me to decide the level of interest in this item as well as the level of potential support which will, in turn, make it easier to decide how I move forward on this and other feature requests.

While you are at it, please also vote in the purchase to download topic (View topic: Poll: Purchase to download feature - ocPortal.com) which is related because the multi-categorization feature makes maintaining your downloadable purchased products easier to manage.

I really am just trying to gauge what others are thinking about the need for the multi-categorization. While I am convinced that it will bring huge benefits to both site owners and our visitors, I want to know what others think. So, even if you are unwilling to co-sponsor this feature but think you are likely to use it, please cast your vote. Or if you think you might want to support it in the future, you can vote for either option 1 or option 4 (with an explanation) – I really meant to phrase option 1 as "would be willing to" rather than "want to", a subtle but clear difference. If there is really no other interest, then I know I either need to go it alone (with Jean's contribution) or just drop this.

I really hope people will take the opportunity to let me know their opinions even if they don't agree with mine. Apathy is the one thing that is really destructive to the community.

Since I cannot seem to accesss the poll once it is set up, can someone tell me if a topic poll stays open indefinitely or is there a pre-specified period of time for which the poll is open.

Also, I set this up with the "required" option based on input from sholzy. Is this the option that causes a member to forfeit their right to vote if they view the results first? If so, is it possible for Robbie or Chris to remove this requirement. Even though it might create some biases with potential voters, I'd rather allow them vote and just assume that they are being honest in their personal response rather than prevent people from voting.

I think that is handled by the global View poll results before voting permission.

I've gone through the submission, general settings, "members, usergroups and forums" and polls section of Global Privileges and still can't find this setting. What am I missing?

Depending on the responses I get, my the priorities for my sponsoring features might change for the rest of this year. Stays open indefinitely. You didn't put 'requires reply' on for the poll. And, I've enabled that permission as on here I see no reason not to.

Still looking for additional input on these two items. Please vote in the polls and leave your comments on these related issues.

I really believe that the multi-categorization will have use for many site owners and would like to get your thoughts.

And the Purchase to download feature is a much better solution with multi-categorization available as opposed to creating and maintaining duplicate entries.

Even though both polls revolve around the same feature request, please take a second to vote in each of these polls and provide any additional input regarding how these features may or may not be beneficial to you.

Just a bump for anyone who has missed this. Please participate in the following two polls regarding the multi-categorization feature and the  purchase to download feature which would be greatly enhanced (no need to duplicate entries) if multi-categorization were available.

I strongly believe that the multi-categorization will be a great benefit to site owners and to our visitors. If you think that this feature could help you, please consider co-sponsoring some portion (which can be a little as 1 credit - about US$8.50) which I will match credit for credit up to one half the cost.

Let's see if we can get this feature funded so that it can be part of the already well-featured v9 release.
