Firefox and ocPortalI noticed that when I view ocPortal in Firefox that you have a little icon before the site name - in the tabbed window and also in the URL window. That is so cool I'm thinking its probably a bitmap, which I can make … but what is the size and where do I load it. I would look it up at Firefox, but I'm not even sure what topic it would be under.

You just create a favicon.ico file and upload it to your domain root I think. If I answered something that you think should be in the documentation, please take the initiative and add it to the community documentation. We really need people to help out here and build a well-organised large support resource. |

To add one to your site, just create a gif (16 by 16 pixels, or 32 by 32 pixels) and upload it. Then rename it from favicon.gif to favicon.ico |

Some web hosts don't allow the uploading of 'ico' files, and the only way around that is to upload the file (in binary mode) as a 'gif' and then rename the extension once it is on your server. I can assure you that that works, because that is precisely how I have to do it. |

It would say something about 'permission denied', or 'cannot rename to prohibited filetype'. I know when I used to be with hostultra.com, this method did not work, as I was trying to upload a Java Applet for members to access to my IRC Server. The webhost did not allow the uploading of .cab files, and using this method of extention renaming did not work. |

I run Otaku Play Ground and am hopping to make themes and other things for ocportal even though I no longer use it for otakuplayground.com I still love it and feel it could go far with the right help. It needs themes and needs people to advertise for it.

Its funny IPB almost forces you to use theirs but you can change it but by default it is theirs. It needs themes and needs people to advertise for it.
