The New AMD: A Processing Powerhouse
I mean the worse Graphics card makers with the worse support joining with the best processor thats just not right. I think I will switch to Intel. I run Otaku Play Ground and am hopping to make themes and other things for ocportal even though I no longer use it for otakuplayground.com I still love it and feel it could go far with the right help. It needs themes and needs people to advertise for it.

I was happing ATI would have gone out of busness long ago. I had a card made by them it was the worse graphics card I ever owned and when I tried to get support for it that was even worse. I run Otaku Play Ground and am hopping to make themes and other things for ocportal even though I no longer use it for otakuplayground.com I still love it and feel it could go far with the right help. It needs themes and needs people to advertise for it.

Then again, I much prefer Intel processors, so I'm in a mixed bag like Amy is!

I would love to buy two top-of-the-line computers, one with Intel and one with AMD processors and see which I prefer. As I cannot do this, I 'stick to what I know' which is that Intel processors are fast, stable, and have served me well for a long time!

I posted this on Novell's forum and they were saying AMD is better as it supports the open source and Linux community so they were saying this will help in the fight against intel. I run Otaku Play Ground and am hopping to make themes and other things for ocportal even though I no longer use it for otakuplayground.com I still love it and feel it could go far with the right help. It needs themes and needs people to advertise for it.

That's really a matter of personal preference, and nothing to do with the functioning of the different chips.

I have found AMD processors much better performers then Intel ones, especially when rendering high poly CGI scenes or other multimedia and ATI cards are much better on backwards compatibility with older games like the much loved Star Trek Armada The ATI support, from what Ive experienced has gotten better and All 3 (nVidia, ATI/AMD and Intel) are doing their bit to have their hardware supported in linux. I just wish both CPU manufacturers would get their heads together and start using the same sockets for their cpus like they did for he old Socket7s :hehe: |
