There is a myBB importer and forum driver included. Because of the forum driver you don't need to import if you don't want to. The importer tutorial does not contain the up-to-date importer list.

  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

I am adding this to the importer tutorial which is our only tutorial about importing…

Memory limits

Importers may use a lot of memory in order to transfer large amounts of data, so you may need to raise the memory limit on your server or import on a different server then copy your site over.
Information on PHP memory limits is included in our FAQ.

Well the problem seems to be your servers memory limit. Actual importing is just clicking through a few buttons really.

Do you get a stack trace with that error? At what step are you getting the error? Do you have the importer installed? You can check and see by going to admin zone, setup, addons and find it on the list....maybe try and reinstall the import addon?

The problem probably is happening due to some kind of internal inconsistency in the mybb database - e.g. a post for a topic that does not exist.

A Brian says, we need much more detail. In particular what import type (e.g. posts) it happens for. But also ocPortal invites you to show stack dumps for the errors. If you do that that will help us much more, otherwise it is very hard to diagnose.

What is the last step called? Is it multi-moderations?

W.r.t. the stack trace thing, doesn't it put a little note at the top of the screen saying you can view a stack trace for the error? This was introduced in 4.2.1 IIRC, so if you're on an older version maybe that's why you haven't seen that.

You have permission to see a stack trace of this error. Stack traces help programmers identify the cause of a problem so are good for making bug reports. Unfortunately the page you are at POSTed through data to the server which we can't resend automatically, so the link will take you back to the front page, but if you then go forward to repeat the action you will see a stack trace instead.
when i click on the link it takes me back to the home page :(

all that i want to save is my member list and post

Yes it will do but if you follow what it says and go through again it will give the stack trace and we can help.

Import of ocf_member_files is skipped for now because it depends on ocf_members to be completed. You should go back and re-import this once the dependency has been satisfied.
Import of ocf_forums is skipped for now because it depends on ocf_members to be completed. You should go back and re-import this once the dependency has been satisfied.
Import of ocf_topics is skipped for now because it depends on ocf_members to be completed. You should go back and re-import this once the dependency has been satisfied.

this the error i got when i ran it about 5 time  :$

Was the members import greyed out do you couldn't run it again? I was expecting you to go back to the form, and re-do that, and for the error to happen again but with a stack trace.

An error has occurred

The requested resource does not exist. (version: 4.2.2, PHP version: 5.2.6, URL: /adminzone/index.php?page=admin_import&type=import&session=7
53613104&importer=mybb&keep_fatalistic=1)

Expanded advice
A resource (usually an entry or a category) is being referenced or linked to by name/identifier, but there is no such resource.

How did this happen?
Common causes include:
If you delete something and then use your back button to try and access what you just deleted.
If you follow a link to something that has since been deleted.

It is also possible that there is some form of corruption in the database. For example, an entry says it is in a category that doesn't actually exist.

How do I fix it?
Fix any invalid links.

If you believe you have found a bug in the software, report it.
Here is the stack trace:

Below is a stack trace revealing the state the software was in when the error occurred. If this represents a bug in the unmodified software, you may want to check ocPortal website for a fix, and if there isn't one, report this as a bug. Please note that merely posting a stack trace is not sufficient for us to solve your problem; the stack trace is just an aid that presents us with additional information. We still need to know the error message, what you tried to do, how you tried to do it, version numbers, and any other appropriate information.
We apologise for this problem and if it's a bug we hope you will work with us so that we can fix it for you promptly. File '/home/admin/underarchive.co.cc/sources/failure.php'
