Fan in action

Wanted to give public ability to view gallery without opening site zone to guest.  Created "Public" zone; is there a way to move (or direct) gallery that was created in site zone over to the new "public" zone.

Thanks

Hi,

You need to set up a transparent redirect under Admin Zone > Structure > Redirects.

public:galleries -> site:galleries

As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.

Thanks Chris,

Sorry, I was not clear, wanted a menu item on the welcome page for a specific gallery that would open without a logon, i.e. reside in a public zone where I could include other items via menu on opening page.

You can set permissions on a per gallery, and you can add menu links to any URL, so that all works in tandem with the above.

You can't move individual galleries into different zones, as they are all always underneath the galleries module. But you can control the permissions to each and how you link things.

Thanks again,

Tried that initially, must have not set something correctly, when I try to access from guest, logon page pops up even though gallery is set to guest read only and view is checked.
