I  hope I am allowed to make this post.
Any way I would like to say how much I like OCportal. The support is great, its a lot easier to use them some of the other systems I have used at least it is now that I asked a lot of questions and explored it a bit.
I have used many systems but always seem to come back to ocportal.
At one time I used Mkportal and ocportal and ipb to generate the same site. It did not slow down the site or cause any problems. I was just using features of all three.

Here are the things I like about mkportal.

It used the same skins as what ever forum sortware you were using.
It adds side bars that can be fully closed and only a small image showing to open the whole menu back up, Which can technically be done any any system as I came close to making a menu like that for IPB with a little help from easy IPB.
At the time I was using it - it offered a few blog - but I found a better free one that does a lot better job and works with IPB.
It had a nice gallery system which later I also found out had it's own bridge with IPB so making mkportal no longer needed.

Things I do not like about mkportal.

Editing the top and side menues are a little bit of a pain and from what I remember you had to have an image next to the link I could be wrong about that though. I will say I have seen worse.
Some times when logging into the forum and then going back to the portal you would no longer be logged in to either - Yes I know ocportal had that too, how ever ocportal fixed it and mkportal looks like they have not as this  problem was on a mkportal's site today while typeing this to remember what mkportal was like.
The blog system used it's own skin system and had to much stuff to fill out to even start making a blog.
The system has not been updated in a long time.
They lost some of thier coders and staff members back when the owner announced he would no longer support external boards. That idea was dropped how ever do to the loose of staff and coders.

Now to ocportal - What I like about ocportal.

Easy to edit menues - I love that little edit menu botton
Easy to install and get started
Comes with all the features I need and more right out of the box and during the install I can pick and choose which ones I want to use - love that.
once you learn how it is easy to edit the skin templates and get the site looking they way that you want.
Great and freadly support on this site.
Updates come out fast and are easy to install and do not mess up any of the changes you made.
Comes with a points system
comes with a nice download system that is not a cpu hog like some I have seen that are for IPb
Adds more security to my site - one of my members was banned on accident. Even though that can be seen as a bad thing with how many times I have been hacked that is more a good thing - and I should add he was not even on the ocportal when it banned him he was on the forum. I am not sure exactly how ocportal's security can protect the forum as well as it self but I am amazed by that. I wonder if it has to do with the forum being in a supfolder under ocportal well I am just glad it works.

What I do not like about ocportal

Hard to set it up so members can choose skins - how ever I did find a way to do this with a little help from a post I made here.
The points store only has things I will never use but I do want a points store.
A bit confusing at first but once you get going it gets easier.
Editing the top menu is a little difficult.

I run http://otakuplayground.com and am hopping to make themes and other things for ocportal even though I no longer use it for otakuplayground.com I still love it and feel it could go far with the right help. It needs themes and needs people to advertise for it.

I would have thought a site Admin would be breathing a sigh of relief with those dislikes and think Christmas came early
