Hi there,

I'm writing about it, as maybe not everybody knows that at the http://www.cmsmatrix.org/ ocPortal has gained the best evaluation score among other CMS systems! Saying precisely, it has been rated best as a system containing the biggest number of built-in application. What a surprise, isn't is LOL?:)

If anybody wish to see it by itself, please visit this site. For the rest, I've attached the sreen shot.

Best regards.

That's great news :).

Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Yup!

Since I followed the link Hobbis posted, I thought I'd do a comparison with the 'BIG THREE' (at least I think they are referred to as such), and here is what I got …

The staff might want to check the two entries I've ringed, and scrutinize the chart for the entries that indicate that ocPortal is 'Limited'.

Even now, I am not fully conversant with its functionality.

Take my advice. I'm not using it!

We control the listing ourself, so it's accurate. Where we've said 'Limited' sometimes it's because it's achievable via a feature like catalogues.
Database is 'Other' because we support lots and even have our own own built-in for dev's. Application Server is blank because we run on at least on Lightspeed and IIS and Apache and support CGI. A few of the 'No's are planned, but a few are incredibly bloat to be shipped in ocPortal (in/out board, lol…).
