Fan in action

Hi,

I am creating a new catalogue and adding custom fields. However, one of the fields, needs to be just like a table, where the user can insert values. I though the most user friendly way to do this is to embed an excel file?

Also a small problem here is that each new catalogue entry created from the user, the specific field needs to be a table of 50x 4 cells empty and ready to be populated.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi,

Perhaps you can use a WYSIWYG field and ask the users to make a table in it.

Otherwise, you'd need a programmer, or a grid input field type would need adding to ocPortal.

As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.
