Hello there
So, first of all, i was wondering how to change background (whole theme and stuff), for example, now it is clouds in the sky on this site, and i want to have something with a game called "Counter Strike"..
Second,  how to create a new page, as i tried and it shows "HTTP 404 Not Found"..
Third ant last one, those blocks like "poll" or "image of the day", i want to create one, but it should be called whatever i like and that it'd hold what i write manually..
P.S. Yeah, i'm kinda "noob" at this, so don't be too hard on me.

Thanks for your help!

For the third item, you can change what's shown by editing the language files (Admin->Style->Rephrase/translate software).  Note that this will be what is shown at the top of each IOTD or Poll block - I don't think there is a way to make custom headings if you have multiple blocks.

Were you trying to create a new page from the menu of in content management?

Hello there …
Hello to you too, TerrorisT. I'm sure you have a good reason to have chosen that username, but we'll let that pass for now.
  • how to change background (whole theme and stuff)
First and foremost, I hope you've 'created' a user-theme from the get-go during installation. If that is the case, then go into the Adminzone >> Style >> Themes >> (your theme) >> Edit CSS for your newly created theme, which will be displayed alongside the 'default' theme (which you shouldn't touch as it is the failsafe fallback). The CSS you want to edit is global.css, and the bit you want to look at is …

Code

{+START,IF,{$CONFIG_OPTION,fixed_width}}{+START,IF,{$NOT,{$MOBILE}}}
   #main_website { /* #main_website targets only the main site screen, avoiding frames etc */
      background-color: #e3eaf6 !important; /* {$,wizard, 11% (seed sat_to 100) + 89% W/B} */

      /* Want to change the tiled background?
         Try this Google search to get image ideas http://www.google.co.uk/search?tbm=isch&q=tile+background
         Find how to edit the referenced "outer-background" theme image by doing an Admin Zone search for "outer-background"
      */
      background: url('{$IMG;,outer-background}');
   }
   #main_website #body_inner {
      width: 980px;
      position: relative;
      margin: 0 auto 0 auto;
      border-left: 1px solid #8ba4ca; /* {$,wizard, 61% seed + 39% W/B} */
      border-right: 1px solid #8ba4ca; /* {$,wizard, 61% seed + 39% W/B} */
      border-bottom: 1px solid #8ba4ca; /* {$,wizard, 61% seed + 39% W/B} */
      -webkit-box-shadow: 0 0 30px #6b81a1; /* {$,wizard, 100% medborder.border} */
      -moz-box-shadow: 0 0 30px #6b81a1; /* {$,wizard, 100% medborder.border} */
      box-shadow: 0 0 30px #6b81a1; /* {$,wizard, 100% medborder.border} */
   }
{+END}{+END}
… and as you can see it encompasses various elements of the background display. The bit you are interested in is background: url('{$IMG;,outer-background}');, specifically the image ($IMG) that is referenced. Replace the original with your own, and you should have made a good start.

  • how to create a new page
Adminzone >> Content >> Pages

  • those blocks like "poll" or "image of the day", i want to create one, but it should be called whatever i like
Bob has already answered this one, but I'm slightly confused as to whether you want to 'edit' the titles of the existing blocks or whether you want to create new blocks. If it is the former. Adminzone >> Style >> Themes >> (your theme) >> Edit templates >> BLOCK_MAIN_IOTD.tpl - and edit the following …

Code

   {+START,BOX,<span class="entry-title">{!IOTD}</span>
change to

Code

   {+START,BOX,<span class="entry-title">YOUR TITLE OF CHOICE</span>

Has that helped?

 :thumbs:

Take my advice. I'm not using it!
