You might get sick of my silly questions from a newbie... BUT Im having some odd issues with one of the block functions. Ive used it before with some galleries.. and it works fine. Ive added some new galleries and it does not work on the new galleries(quite recent). I dont know if its the pic file type or.. god knows. Ive validated the pics(loaded via the url method, just like everything else), but this function just wont work with the latest gallery ive added recently.

ALSO, I think it has corrupted my personal topic page. I get huge error messages. The only way to get my personal topics back to normal is to create enough untill the corrupted PT is on the next page.(I practice the function in PTs before openly posting it).

Block function below, Ive used before with no issues, but not with latest gallery.

  • Gallery embedding (main_gallery_embed)
Show the images in a gallery.
Typical use: Embedding a gallery inside a Comcode page is an excellent way to attach collections of images to an article.

This is quite hard to follow to see exactly what you're doing and where the problem is. It might help if you record a quick screen cast in Jing and paste a link to it here.

  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

First result on Google, free screen recorder. It will allow me to see step-by-step exactly what you're doing.

Yes, I received thanks. I'm sorry but my time is extremely limited so I can't engage too deeply with particular user scenarios, just tackle any bugs or usability issues I am immediately aware of.

I think you'll find Jing very easy to use, it's free and very high quality software. You tell it to record, then there's an upload button which will upload to screencast.com and give you a link to paste into a post here. All I need you to do is to show me the problem on that and then I am much more likely to immediately understand what you mean.
