The privacy link in the footer should display the "privacy policy" page correct?

Well guest get an internal error page and logged in as admin gives a "personalzone" set permissions page.

You'll have to edit FOOTER.tpl, either using the built-in editor, or using a text editor and saving it to your theme templates_custom folder.

Find line 75:

Code

{+START,IF,{$CONFIG_OPTION,bottom_show_privacy_link}}<a rel="site_privacy" accesskey="8" href="{$PAGE_LINK*,_SEARCH:privacy}">{!PRIVACY}</a>{+START,IF,{$OR,{$NOT,{$IS_GUEST}},{$CONFIG_OPTION,bottom_show_privacy_link}}} <span class="linkcolor">&middot;</span>{+END}{+END}
and change it to ...

Code

{+START,IF,{$CONFIG_OPTION,bottom_show_privacy_link}}<a rel="site_privacy" accesskey="8" href="{$PAGE_LINK*,:privacy}">{!PRIVACY}</a>{+START,IF,{$OR,{$NOT,{$IS_GUEST}},{$CONFIG_OPTION,bottom_show_privacy_link}}} <span class="linkcolor">&middot;</span>{+END}{+END}

That will give you the link to the COMCODE :privacy page instead of the current personalzone:privacy page.

Take my advice. I'm not using it!

Well-settled

Thank you Fletch!  Just noticed the same thing on my site, and changed according to your suggestion.

It worked!   :thumbs:

Yeah, this will be fixed in the next release also. We added the privacy module at some point and I didn't realise the link had jumped itself to point to that, wasn't intended. I have changed the link as described here and changed the default privacy page to itself link to the privacy module.

Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.
