Want easier forum on homepage

Hello. I have a question. Is it possible, or you can add a simple forum on the home page of the website. I know there is a built-in forum but i would like to have a much easier forum. Are there actual scrip (forums) that you can add or any other idea. I hope you understand my question :-)

add. The forum included in ocPortal is fantastic but it would be an option to put in a simpler more user-friendly forum.

regards

Not sure I quite understand, but I think you would like to have the forum as your home page instead of having to click through to it.  Is this correct?

If so, Yes this is possible by using redirection. If your hosting account allows redirects set up a redirect from your domain to point to the forum. It may look like:
"Redirect http://yourdomain.com to http://yourdomain.com/forum"

Hello. I have created forums with various departments how do I view the forums on the homepage. Should we add this as a block or what. I want the forums and active postings are always visible on the homepage so you do not have to click to another page to access the forum.

There's a couple ways of doing it depending on your desired outcome.

1. You want your forums to display on the front page, but wish to keep your main left and right panel.

Go to "Adminzone / Structure / Redirects" and set up a redirect"
From Zone: Welcome
From Page: start
To Zone: Forums
To Page: forumview

2. Want your forums to be the main part of your site, complete with the normal forum menus on your panels, and you wish to add links to other parts of your site as needed.

Go your your hosting panel. If your are using a hosting account that uses cpanel : http://YourDomain.Com/cpanel - log in and create a redirect:

Type: Permanent (301)
Domain: Choose your main domain in the drop down list (yourdomain.com)
/ index.php?page=start (or (Or leave it blank)
redirects to? http://YourDomain.Com/forum/index.php?page=forumview

There are a few block options to show the latest topics and threads in the block wizard too which although wont have all the forum content there it will show the most popular and latest things
