I can read it and some people can not always understand what I say so its no biggy.

I run http://otakuplayground.com and am hopping to make themes and other things for ocportal even though I no longer use it for otakuplayground.com I still love it and feel it could go far with the right help. It needs themes and needs people to advertise for it.

I don't envy many people many things, but I am always full of admiration for people that can SPEAK another language, let alone read and write it. I live in Portugal and my wife does 5 languages fluently. I am constantly envious of her ability, but I do know it is a 'gift' so I continue to speak my broken, tourist-style Portuguese, to the mass amusement of the Portuguese residents of my area of Lisboa.

My German runs to "Eine tasse kaffee, bitte.", and I am ashamed to admit that I spent over three years in Germany (Rheindahlen area)!!

Your English is perfectly understandable to me.

Take my advice. I'm not using it!

LOL Amy!

I still recall the time one of my female soldiers left her daughter at my home while we went out on a 21-day field exercise. She was horrified when the little darling casually asked Mum to, "… pass the rubber." while she was doing her homework in the family room.

'Rubber' in English english means 'eraser'.

All future stays at our home after that episode were accompanied by a long list of words and expressions she was not expected to learn!

 :o

Take my advice. I'm not using it!

Another word that is different is chips as in the food.

Chips are thin crispy potato things. I think over there they are what we call french fries or some people call them freedom fries or just fries .

One of my favourite English->American English confusions is the word 'fag'.

I'm also quite fond of 'bathroom' and 'restroom'. If I need to use the toilet, I'm not going to have a bath, nor rest while I'm in there. :P
