Hi

I would like this specific catalogue to not have the availability for comments.

Is there a way?

Thanks

Hi,

Rating and comments may be disabled on a per-entry level.

ocPortal is smart here. It will set the default for new entries based on the statistical norm of what was chosen for existing entries. This is computed per-content-type. This way you get the advantage of full control without usually having to think about what you're doing.

However, I can see for the case of catalogues we also need to compute it per-catalogue. This small change implements that:
Attachment
sources/aed_module.php
» Download: aed_module.php (54 Kb, 42 downloads so far)

We will include in the next patch release.

  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Thanks for the answer!

Can I also disable "Feedback and notes" as well as "Search Engine Optimisation, and Tagging" from when adding a Catalogue entry?

thanks

Sorry, there's no way to completely disable it except site-wide or by changing the PHP.
