Dear ocPortal

Dear ocPortal,

In discovering your many features and being able to use a majority of them without fail, I have come to respect you very much. You have been the first CMS to have really categorized your addons, made it simple to install, and installed nearly everything without fail. In addition to installing these addons, you have been able to actually run everything like you've said you can.

Your listing of offers goes deep, but several things that stand out are the blog & news feature, the video gallery which support YouTube video, the photo gallery, the multi-poll system, the image of the day, the powerful forums, the chatroom, and the catalogue system, not to mention the e-Commerce and Ticket Support system that I have not been able to use yet because I have had no reason to use them, but I fully trust your ability to deliver.

Since you have promised so much, and delivered, my expectations of you remain high in everything you do. You may cause some bugs at times, but I am very forgiving, so long as those bugs are worked on and much effort is put in to fix them. In saying this, I am always in search of another CMS like you. I am not meaning to disappoint you because I don't think I will ever be able to replace you. "Once you go ocPortal… you can never really go anywhere else and feel comfortable again." However, I am only in search of another CMS like you to ensure that if there is something better than you, you will gather enough coding and power to become the ultimate CMS above all else. Or that you be able to always match another like you.

In my search for CMS like you, I have stumbled across a site known as the CMS Matrix. In life, I have come to expect the word and response of "No." From the time I was young and asked to stay up a little later, to the time I asked if I could have an extra piece of… I have been told no. I even remember my first rejection. The words were "No." The CMS Matrix is based upon a system of YES and NO. I don't like the word "No" unless I really deserve it or it comes to mean something important. Otherwise, the word "No" is just another path that opens in life where you must seek to find the "Yes."

The CMS Matrix is designed to say "Yes" or "No" over 100 times. In my comparison to ocPortal with other Content Management Systems, I have seen many "No". While I can't say that ocPortal is clear of "No" and I hope in the future that every "No" becomes a "Yes," I am quite impressed by the amount of times I am told "Yes" over "No". I feel like ocPortal cares. It is not denying me an extra hour to stay up later at night. It is not denying me that piece of…. nor is it rejecting me. But there have been far more "No" with every other system than ocPortal.

I salute you ocPortal and I hope that all your "No" become "Yes" and I know you're trying as best as you can because it is important that no one feel rejected by you in their attempts to make downloads, uploads, and be able to use you to their advantage. In all my comparisons on CMS Matrix, you are the default CMS I have chosen to go against everything else. And you have passed the test and won over every CMS so far. Keep up the great work!

Thanks. I'll add a dissenting voice – I don't think ocPortal needs an online replacement for the staff punch-in/punch-out systems they have at large companies to ensure staff actually work the right hours. I remember that is one of the items on cmsmatrix  .

         from me to the reason is I use two cms systems : Dolphin and OC portal. Both have their own possibilitys. But I have to say Ocportal is the most stable of the two.
