Its not quite there...

The links open in a new window and I cannot see an option to not do that and I now have links with sexy titles like Comcode page: xxxx_xxxx

Yuck can I change that. Its spoiling the look and feel!

You'll need to tell us more about how you have set up the catalogue. In particular, you seem to have some kind of linking field, but there are a few field types that could do that, or you may have been achieving the links via Comcode.

I can't see anything in the code for a content-link field type (e.g. to a Comcode page) that specifies it would use a new window, or a prefix like that.

I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.

Okay so the bread crumb goes home...catalogues....in memoriam...In Memoriam

As I had to name the catalogue and then I had to give the catalogue a catergory for some reason so that also became in memoriam.

Then the catalogue display type became tabular listings as that looks good with the thumbnails of the departed.

There is a field called name, a hidden one called date to  help me order it, one called thumbnail and one called page...

Now page has type A page link. Is this ok?

So now we go to add in memoriam entry and I have to select a category so that in memoriam (would love to get rid of this as it looks pointless to me)

The interesting bit is the field called page. Here I have root and zones and under zones is the word Comcode page: xxxxxxxx and this is what I highlight but for some reason that name carries on all the way through and there is no way of making it nicer when seen in the tabular listing?

Does that help?

Also I have noticed that you can sort by rating even if I have turned off all the ability to rate and leave comments so I would like to Knock that out of the listing order box as its not really appropriate.

Thanks for reading all this!

This should resolve everything, except your comments about category structure. Catalogues are designed to organise everything into categories, there's no provision for having one without them. We could do some trickery to make categories a bit less obvious if there's only one, and I've documented some notes on the tracker 0001616: Catalogues with "no" category - ocPortal feature tracker. Note that you can also workaround by using the breadcrumb XML feature, but it's complex to use (programmer-complex really).

Whoops, that's meant to be misc_changes.tar.gz, I named it wrong. Just in case it fails to open for you.
