I just noticed that the "back to top" arrow that used to be on the bottom of each page is missing in v9.

Is that by plan? Did I miss something in the setup?

Not a big deal, just curious. :)

I take that back. It is there when using Firefox, but gone in Chrome.

Are you sure those are the same sites? Shows only if bottom_show_top_button option is turned on.

It is the same site, Chris.

The one with just the book mark button is Chrome.

oh, duh...I bet the difference is that I am not logged in as "admin" in Chrome. Could that make the difference? I was logged in as a test member in Chrome.

Not according to the code I checked :S. Is it in the HTML itself, maybe some rendering bug? Or was GLOBAL_HTML_WRAP.tpl changed?

I just logged into the site as admin using Chrome, and it does make the difference.

I may have changed GLOBAL_HTML_WRAP.tpl when I was looking for a way to add the text to the step3 join confirmation; although, I don't remember doing that. I will compare what I have on my site with the original, and let you know.

I just used a quick compare tool, and I made no modifications to the GLOBAL_HTML_WRAP.tpl. I also checked my configuration and the back to top link box is checked.

Sure, Chris.

GenuineHomeBuyers.com/members

The thing is, though, it is now working. I re-uploaded GLOBAL_HTML_WRAP.tpl, and cleared the site cache, and now the back to top button appears in both FireFox, and Chrome. O_o

Hmm, if a config option is changed, the Template cache needs emptying if any template references it directly – which GLOBAL_HTML_WRAP does – but that's automatically done. So I'm not sure what happened there.

The only thing I can think of is that I did make a change to the GLOBAL_HTML_WRAP. I used UltraCompare to compare the original with what I had, and it found no changes.

I am sorry to bother you with this. It is kind of mystery.

As a matter of habit, I clear the site cache whenever I make any changes, and I also close the browser to clear that cache as the ctrl/alt/refresh does not always work.

I am going to mark this resolved.

Thanks, Chris. I am sure you had better things to do on a Sunday night. You are the best!
