I'm becoming a real addict to 'Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles'. I've always loved films and shows with cyborgs, can't get enough. I love everything about this show, except from it's lame name.

Are there any other fans of this out there?

I've been recording them, but have not yet had a chance to watch any. I am looking forward to a view!

I do like cyborgs as well. I like this show as well but I always seem to miss it and have only see a few.

I run http://otakuplayground.com and am hopping to make themes and other things for ocportal even though I no longer use it for otakuplayground.com I still love it and feel it could go far with the right help. It needs themes and needs people to advertise for it.

I don't have a television, but if I did I would probably watch it - it sounds right up my street.

Thanks for the tip :). Never been in to anime before but I'll give it a try some time. Recommend any?

Although you might like cyborg 009.

Hi, Chris:

Y'know, I watched a bit of it last season, and mostly liked it, but it seemed to disappear this season and somehow it fell off of my DVR-TIVO.

However…why is it I suspect it's the star of the series that you find the most compelling?  What's her name????

Best,

Lol. I have to admit she's nice, in a domineering kind of way, but I prefer seven of nine of voyager - she's my favourite female cyborg ;).

I actually find the dry humour of it really funny. They manage to get her to say/do some really funny things that are funny to the audience but not the characters. It's clever.

@Hitch - I don't have US TV but I believe they moved the day.

Yes, actually, I believe that what happened is I moved in the season break and didn't set it up on the DVR when I relocated.  I don't really watch network TV, so didn't see the ads for it showing up again…and thus failed to start watching it again this season.  One of the downsides to (Tivo and Tivo-type) DVR's is that while they are spiffy for setting up series that are ON the air, they somewhat suck at setting up shows that are not currently running.  Hence, I missed it.  Ah, well.  More time to try to figure out what the heck I'm doing with my sites, LOL!

I only remember 2 of them. The first one and one about a power plant.

I remember 7 of 9 and I wanted to be just like her as she was so smart.   Then again I wanted to be like Data (From star trek next generation) at one time too.

Enter MythTV which does not suffer from this issue. I have a rule for this show "record at any time on any channel" and so as long as it shows up in the listings somewhere, I get a recording regardless of off-air breaks or schedule moves…very kewl.

Finding a tv tuner card that works with linux is a huge chellange.
I used to have one that worked very well but its not made any more and the card I had died.
Mythtv is good though.

I'm going to resist the temptation to ask "don't you find this rather hit-and-myth?," and simply note that while this looks grand for OTA, it doesn't address the cable/satellite channels - is that right?  No tie-in mechanism for the paid providers, if I'm skimming it correctly.  Thanks, though…wish I had this instead of the freaking DirecTV HD box I have, which whines like a siamese cat in heat just above the audible range of MOST humans, but sadly, not above mine.

Bejaysus, Amichan, you sure know how to make me feel decrepit!!  LOL, I wanted to be Mrs. Peel, and I do NOT mean Uma Thurman.

Couple of options with regards to cable/sat:
  1. Use a DVB (Digital Video Broadcast) card that supports a CAM (Conditional Access Module) or run a small piece of software that allows you to connect your CAM via serial cable and ISO programmer. You can use your paid subscription under Myth. This setup can be a little complicated.
  2. Connect an IR Blaster (lil unit that sends the infrared like a remote) to your tuner, cable box or satellite receiver then connect the video-out to a video-in card on the PC. This one is easy and straigthforward (the hardest part is setting up the IR blaster to mimic the signals from your remote).
