I think it would be good to add a formal option to purchase three support credits. I often speak in my sponsorship posts about people making small contributions that add up to fully sponsor a feature request. The problem is that people go to purchase support credits and find that their lowest option is 9 credits at roughly $80. If they could make a $30 purchase, I think some might be more inclined to participate in co-sponsoring new features.

U recognize the benefits of a minimum of 9 points from a support perspective, but I think there may be lost opportunity for sponsorship. I also realize that people can contact you to buy credits in non-standard amounts; I simply think most people will not do this.

There are a number of feature requests for items quoted at one hour (6 credits). Please consider making the purchase of 3 credits a formal option so that people can easily collaborate on these small one and two hour projects. This would be helpful to people who wish to participate in improveing ocPortal but, for whom, the $90 price tag of 9 credits is a bit steep.

Talk about inflation! It went up $10 as you were typing …  :o

Seriously, I think you have a good point. Perhaps the team will give it some air.

Take my advice. I'm not using it!

Oops.

I hope so because times are still tough for people but I think that some might be willing to participate if the 'entry cost' is lower. People in these forums seem pretty dedicated to ocPortal and, for those like me who cannot code or skin, helping to sponsor a new feature is a great way to give back to the community. We just need to lower the barrier to play in this arena.

I've added options of buying 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 to the form – but only for people who have marked a sponsorship onto the tracker :).

Otherwise I just know we'll have people buying a few minutes support and uploading 50 page word documents of questions to the support system  .

Very clever. I would probably have just done 3 and 6 credits but this makes it easy for just about anyone to contribute to creating new features.

Hopefully, we will see a number of people taking advantage of this to co-sponsor a new feature.

Chris-

You  might want to add 6 credits too in case someone wants to sponsor a 1 hour project.
