A not so new newbie

Hi all  :D ,

I did jump in today and start testing this portal.
I'm webmaster of several sites and have worked on the internet from the 80's untill now and did translate some computerbooks from German and English to Dutch. I also wrote columns in some computer magazines in Holland. I administrated some support forums for several years.
Beside that I'm founder of some charity organisations whats gobbeling up most of my time.

I have worked with Ikonboard (years ago). Mambo, E107 (e-)xoops etc. I found this portal tempting enough to start testing it for our goals and if I start to use it I will translate it fully to Dutch.

The reasons I'm looking for an alternative are that the many sites I work with (now mostly e107 based) are to complicated for the use of our volunteers and to complicated for our visitors. Safety and simplicety are important issues for me and my admins.
Other things are the use of multi languages and the possebillity to work with teams (groups) that can have their own part of a site with a lock for normal visitors.

Well I know what to do today, so lets get to work ;).

Hi Robbie :),

Thanks for your response.
After reading up the guides and pooking througt the files, the first impression is   Great.
I'm searching now for answeres on how to create the multi sites options for the w4a.org site with several subdomains as subsites.
Hmm, (polishing my reading glasses to start reading again) gues I see you later.

Anyone in the community can help - even the moderators and administrators. They just have to use their best judgement.
