Do I need to fix any thing with the skins I made?

I run http://otakuplayground.com and am hopping to make themes and other things for ocportal even though I no longer use it for otakuplayground.com I still love it and feel it could go far with the right help. It needs themes and needs people to advertise for it.

These are the things likely to 'conflict'. Nothing here is very important, but you might want to update your files.
Line 1044 of global.css from (fixes an IE display glitch):

Code

   background-position: 0% 50%;
to:

Code

   background-position: 0% 4px;
Lines 173 and 179 of adminzone.css from (fixes uglyness on the theme management screen):

Code

   padding-right: 50px
to:

Code

   width: 80px
And there were also a few changes in GLOBAL.tpl but those probably weren't important (making it so the tutorial links only display for staff).

Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

One thing I noticed while making skins is IE 7 displays the way firefox does.
I was using the if command I found in one of the templates that made things different for each browser mainly because my tabs would not show up right in IE so I used the command to make it show one way for IE and another for firefox but then on IE 7 I noticed it did not work and it showed the code I used for IE as if I was using firefox.
So I had to find a new way of doing it.

Thanks by the way.

Well-settled

Removing links is VERY important.

Talking of which I now need to hunt around and find how to edit the auto-post for download comments, which again features the software.

*sigh*

This is some thing I tell my self when trying to find some thing.
look where you would not expect it and you are more likely to find it.
I could show lots of examples where that works.
