v7.0.1 - Why can't 404.txt be edited with the comcode page editor?

At the moment I'm customising my 404 error pages to add some standalone css, javascript and html. I've had no problem making the changes in MISSING_SCREEN.tpl, but am having problems applying the same changes to 404.txt .

I have two problems:

1) 404.txt lives in pages\comcode\EN\, but is not listed in the comcode page editor.

2) I've edited 404.txt manually and the changes are not being rendered properly (done the usually flushing). This is clearly just an escaping issue, but even if I surround my code with [ semihtml ] it does not make any difference.

Assuming you meant 8.0.1, this will add an edit link for it:

I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.

Nope! v7.01 is not a typo.

I can get by with editing #1 manually in v7.0.1, that was more a F.Y.I.

But I can't understand why #2 is not working.

F.Y.I. I tried your file in v7.0.1 anyway just to see if the 404 page was listed, but its not.

I'm not sure about #2 either. Before I fixed the listing I actually went to ?page=404 manually and edited via the "edit this page" link. That worked for me.

I'd only guess maybe you have another 404 page somewhere or some cache got missed.

Just tried that and it worked for me as well. That's just bizarre O_o .

Nope. I was modifying the right file as I could see text being displayed, just not behaving correctly as to the css and javascript.
