Well-settled

I didn't touch my website a log time and today I see those codes:

Deprecated: iconv_set_encoding() [ref.iconv.php]: Use of iconv.output_encoding is deprecated in /home/audrone/domains/xxxxx.serveriai.lt/public_html/straipsniai/sources/global2.php on line 2091

Deprecated: iconv_set_encoding() [ref.iconv.php]: Use of iconv.internal_encoding is deprecated in /home/audrone/domains/xxxxx.serveriai.lt/public_html/straipsniai/sources/global2.php on line 2092

What it can be and why these codes appeared ?

Hello,

I just checked and the version of ocPortal you're running is quite outdated now. I can see the webhost has upgraded to PHP 5.6, which this version of ocPortal isn't compatible with.

The latest v9 is definitely compatible.

If you don't want to update, replace iconv_set_encoding with @iconv_set_encoding in the sources/global2.php file.

I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.

Thank you, I changed to this:

elseif ((function_exists('@iconv_set_encoding')) && (get_value('disable_iconv')!=='1'))
    {
        $encoding=$known_utf8?'UTF-8':$charset;
        if (@iconv_set_encoding('input_encoding',$encoding))
        {
            @iconv_set_encoding('output_encoding',$charset);
            @iconv_set_encoding('internal_encoding',$charset);
        } else

It works OK now.

P.S. I am afraid to update to newer version to have many problems with it. I think, there isn't automatical updating?

Okay, glad it worked :). No, we don't currently have automatic updating.
