I'm not sure what happened but when I upgraded with the latest oCportal a lot of my permissions got messed up, most of my blocks are not working properly and I have a strange code begin added to my 'spaces' when I create new content.

Has anyone else experienced this?

In my Admin panel is has a patch upgrade suggested but when I try that it tells me that it is being generated by another user and that I should try again later. I've have tried to do this for 1 week now and I'm still getting the same message.

If anyone can tell me where to go or how I can resolve this I would be greatly thankful.

Thanks in advance,

Hi,

(The locking of the upgrade generation should now be fixed)

What did you originally upgrade from? Themeing issues shouldn't be possible for a v9-v9 upgrade, but a v8-v9 upgrade would lose theme compatibility.

There are some issues with permissions under two conditions…

1) If you added content previously with an admin account that has since been deleting, when caches are cleared it can fail to regenerate the content, as the original permissions no longer exist.

2) The most recent 2 patch releases have a very nasty bug, which came up as an unexpected side-effect after we strengthened security controls:
0001625: Bug: Lost Comcode permissions after an upgrade - ocPortal feature tracker
The hotfix will stop it happening again, and if you edit your content, it should re-save correctly.

If you'd like me to go over your site and fix any issues for free, please open a bug report ticket. I recognise '2' was a nasty bug.

This could happen if you've had the utf-8 addon, then removed it. Or something similar to that involving a unicode change.

Yes, I think I've helped you before, I remember your site.

Open a ticket from here:

Maybe I need to put together a script to help people in this kind of situation, I sympathise.

I can now see this, actually in the WYSIWYG editor (CKEditor) rather than Comcode. We recently upgraded CKEditor, and I'll see if I can debug the problem.

Ah, I realise you are referring to new editing, not existing pages. Please try the hotfix in here:
0001611: Weird characters in WYSIWYG editor - ocPortal feature tracker
It was fixed in 9.0.13, which was rushed out fairly quickly due to this bug.

Chris,

I've tried updating all of the hot-fixes that you've provided but I'm now getting errors in my video and images galleries. If you follow this link:

http://www.localmc.com/site/index.php?page=galleries&type=misc&id=localmc_tv

you can see what I am talking about. I'm not really sure how to proceed and changing out all of the files in the hot-fixes have taken a long time. Is there anything you can do to help me?

I've gone ahead and opened a support ticket as you suggested. I don't think what I am doing is working and could really use your help.

I "think" what happened to be is related. I saw think because this is, itself, confusing. I upgraded from .12 to .13 on a42.com and the WYSIWYG doesn't "show up". But, not dark theme and doing hot-fix 1627 didn't fix it.
I am still trying to figure out what is going on so this post is mostly to say there appears to be more to this than described above.

What you have felipe sounds like something separate, and probably unique to your own install or browser settings.

One annoying thing with Javascript is a single error can break all subsequent code on your page. If you view the browser's Console, you may see something relevant in it. If you want to share messages in that, perhaps I can help. It does actually load for me  on http://a42.com/pg/recommend.

We have had a number of WYSIWYG problems recently, after doing an upgrade of CKEditor and finding a number of changes causing knock-on bugs, but the whole editor not loading wasn't one of them.

Very interesting. I usually check problems with, at least, Firefox and Opera but, for this I only did it in Firefox as I am really busy. It works perfectly in Opera. Thanks.

The error I got in Firefox was "TypeError: window.CKEDITOR.addCss is not a function". A friend got different results (on the same system) with Chrome, Firefox and IE. I don't envy you on this "feature". I am not in the JavaScript fan club.
