Could I use some thing like this in the templates?

Code

<func_data><![CDATA[$show_mem="",$sort_order="",$sort_key="",$links=""]]></func_data>
There is some thing I wish to add that would require a code like that.

I run http://otakuplayground.com and am hopping to make themes and other things for ocportal even though I no longer use it for otakuplayground.com I still love it and feel it could go far with the right help. It needs themes and needs people to advertise for it.

What's that intended to do? I'm guessing it's from IPB, but it's not code that really explains itself, so I'm at a loss.

I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.

Its for functions.
Basically I am adding the close command to ocPortal or want to.
see on IPB when you use the close command which needs to have both an element in the php files as well as in the templates well it needs a function command which I found in the xml file of the template as at first I was not sure how to use functions out side of ipb, which is why I am asking as I am still not sure how.

I've had a quick look at IPB. The rough equivalent in ocPortal is the 'INCLUDE' directive, used to include one template in another (which is what this particular 'function' seem to be doing). Possibly IPB also uses this syntax for including dynamic code – in which case in ocPortal it'd be done via symbols.

But IPB and ocPortal are not equivalent in how they put things together – the whole templating structure and methodology is different. It'd be like trying to use bicycle parts in an airplane.

Indeed thats why I was asking how to do it on ocPortal.
Remember when I asked about making your hide function able to be saved via cookie well thats exactly what I want to do.
BTW where did you get a copy of IPB, I have 2.2.1 you can use for testing but only testing.
