That should take care of your current setup until you can re-jig things on a permanent basis …

Take my advice. I'm not using it!

k this is my redirects

From Zone :: From Page :: To Zone :: To Page

Site :: Rules :: welcome :: Rules
Forums :: Rules :: Welcome :: Rules
Collaboration Zone :: hosting-submit :: site :: hosting-submit
collaboration zone :: authors :: site :: authors
collaboration zone :: panel_top :: welcome :: panel_top
forum :: panel_top :: welcome :: panel_top
personal zone :: panel_top :: welcome :: panel_top
site :: panel_top :: welcome :: panel_top
personal zone :: invoices :: site :: invoices
personal zone :: subscriptions :: site :: subscriptions

these are the default settings because i never messed with them. but I'm thnking i might had checked something that it would show the welcome page instead of the site page. Since I'm not that familiar with how this part of the site (the redirects) work is why i never messed with it until I can learn it.

so could there be someplace else thats making the welcome page to show instead of the site page. also can i do away with that welcome page and if so how?

It's pretty much as I wrote it there. You can see when you fill it in it looks the same. The only difference I think is the from zone might be 'Welcome zone' or something like that, rather than blank.

As far as I understand it, under the 'new redirect' section on the Redirects page, select 'Welcome' (which is the default name for the first zone that visitors to your website will see) in the first drop-down menu. This is the zone which contains the page you want redirected away from.

Then in the next box, type ':start'. This is the name of the page within the selected zone that you want redirected away from.

Then, the following drop-down should be set to the name of the zone you want the aforementioned page redirected to, so 'site'.

And in the final box, you should type the name of the page in that zone you want the redirect to go to, so 'start'.

You can use the same principle for the side menu panels too. :)

If I've helped you, please click 'points' and show your appreciation!
