Wiki-bot

I call it a Wiki-bot because that is the name of it in Joomla, it is an editor addition so that if you type

Code

[[word]]
it would insert a link to the topic page for "word" on wikipedia (or wikionary depending on the setting). This is for site that often reference other sites for obscure topics.

By programmable I just mean that the base URL could be set for the sites individual taste.

The "bot" as I know it is fine tunable, meaning that if it does not find the proper reference by itself you can change the reference word in hidden text.

O_oI just noticed that-that particular shortcut is already used intra-site, so it might be a simple modification to use

Code

^^word^^
or something to have a programmable auto-link location:$

Should be doable via custom comcode. Is this the correct underlying link with Wiki-bot configured for wikipedia and the word being "word":

Code

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Word
?

Yes, that is the result, however it gets more complicated when words are compounded such as "John Wayne" yielding a link to "John Wayne - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia". It does sound like I jumped the gun a little though since I really haven't begun to get "the hang" of OCPortal yet.

Thanks

P.S. from the results of this post there is an interaction going on because the URL I entered fetched the actual page title from Wikipedia, (this editor is cool) I need to learn it better, not just assume it is "Every other WYSIWYG editor"
