Well-settled

Hi THere,
I have uploaded the file as it says..

To get full benefit of the performance improvements new database indexes are required. A script is attached to this announcement that can be uploaded to the ocPortal data_custom directory and loaded up, to create these indices. It may take some time to run, depending on the size of the site. said

ALos uploaded the upgrade file, done the upgrade done the database upgrade and its all fine..
I also then went to do to www.siteaddress/data_custom/new_indices.php
It then gave me errors

Code

Unfortunately a query has failed [ALTER TABLE ocp4_chat_messages ADD INDEX ordering (date_and_time)] [Duplicate key name 'ordering'] (version: 6.0, PHP version: 5.2.16, URL: /data_custom/new_indices.php)

And so on. So does that mean I did not need to manually run this script? or I am doing something owrng…

Thanks
Slav

No, that's fine, it just meant that particular index was done already. It skips over errors so it finished.

Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.
